Financial Evidence Guidelines for Indian Applicants
Consulates look for financial stability and consistent cash flow rather than sudden lump-sum deposits. Recommended supporting documents include:
- Last 3 to 6 months bank account statements, stamped and signed by the issuing bank branch.
- Last 3 months salary payslips and employment confirmation letter (if salaried).
- Income Tax Returns (ITR-V / Acknowledgement) for the past 2 assessment years.
- For self-employed: business registration certificate, company bank statements, and audited accounts.
Eligibility Criteria & Rules
Eligibility is assessed individually. Applicants must meet the Schengen Visa Code conditions and provide evidence of the purpose of travel, accommodation, sufficient means of subsistence and intention to leave before visa expiry.
Applications may normally be lodged no more than six months before the intended visit.
As a rule, applications should be lodged no later than 15 calendar days before the intended visit; justified urgency exceptions can exist.
